This book was of great intrigue of me. Being a recent immigrant to the US, the whole situation with Puerto Rico has always been a question mark to me. This book expertly breaks down the culture and history of Puerto Rico and how it arrives today at a nation wanting to both be separate and part of the United States. While accessible, this really isn't for the layman, and is more of an academic resource. Perfect for students or the studious wishing to learn about this tenuous situation and the people involved.
