This book is very similar to the idea of 'The Giving Tree'. If that is a book you love, then you will certainly love this one as well. A beautiful tale about the relationship of one boy and the sea he loves, and how sea loves him back. This book is a great way to teach your kids how the oceans provide for us with out us being able to give anything back. It is also a good lesson on how weary time can be on us all. I read this with my 6 year old, she was able to read most of it, but was tired of her reading near the end as their are some larger text sections. This is definitely a co-reader for younger readers.
